Got it back home in the... After being followed by Simon on the Run into MGFifteen, Simon(cheers) said my (boot lid)brake light was not working.

Got it back home in the garage.
Disconnected the connector for brake light and found no 'live' feed there.
Traced the wire back into the loom and could not find any damage.
Started to undo and remove the insulating tape from the loom where it bends round the left hand boot hinge and found one wires frayed and worse one wire snapped.

I stripped all the insulation from the damage section of the loom.
After checking there was only one wire frayed and one wire broken.
New pieces of wire(soldered) to repair damage and then used Heat-Shrinkable Sleeving to make good.
Found the cause of the problem is where the 'boot loom' joins the 'main loom', it tends to flex and bend causing the wires to snap.
I then used some bigger diameter Flexible Plastic Conduit from the 'main loom' to the boot lid, then wrapped the loom in tape.
